Art on the Hill! at Brill! Sat/Sun 27th/28th April, details above...

After a successful two day sketching and 'working up' course at Brill, just outside Oxford in early April, I have booked the Sports and  Social club again for late September!

What about getting a group together? I can take up to 6 in my studio and can plan a day to suit you. Contact me for further info...

Painting

Landscape is both my subject and motivation; any landscape to which I feel particularly drawn. The idea is to present a cohesive body of work as a journey, beginning with the physical experience of being in a place and subsequent first painted response - recogniseably landscape painting complete with perspective and local colour. The journeying will take me beyond this to a painted evocation of a less tangible feeling of what it is like to be there. A fragment or glimpse being part of the larger whole is one that I am currently exploring, using more than one panel in a painting. The division between two panels may be subtle but is enough demarkation to allow for changes in time and mood.
